UK ETA Requirements

What you need before starting your application. No extras — just the checklist.

Documents Required

  • Valid passport — must not expire within 6 months of your planned travel date. Biometric passports are accepted.
  • Email address — for receiving your ETA confirmation and status updates. Must be accessible.
  • Payment method — debit or credit card (Visa, Mastercard) for processing fees.
  • Travel details — approximate dates of travel and purpose of visit (tourism, business, transit).
  • Personal information — full name (as on passport), date of birth, nationality, and contact details.

Who Needs a UK ETA?

The UK ETA is required for nationals of countries that do not need a visa for short stays but now require an Electronic Travel Authorisation. This includes nationals from countries such as:
